The association GlaciersAlive is a group of dedicated people from the fields of science, research, communication and administration who are committed to finding sustainable solutions to water issues. MortAlive is a project with the aim of finding innovative solutions for covering glaciers with snow. As long as there is snow on the ice, it is completely protected from melting. This could stop the loss of water reservoirs in dry mountain regions.

Glaciers are important natural water reservoirs. In dry mountain regions such as Central Asia or South America, their meltwater secures the water supply and thus the basis of life. However, climate change is causing glaciers to melt ever faster. In the long term, this leads to regional water shortages and can trigger migration flows and even conflicts.
This is precisely where Gletschervision GmbH comes in, because it is time to act, which is expressed with the vision “Glaciers can grow again in the future”. This involves glaciological solutions (MortAlive, glacier cover, protection of water supplies, etc.), motivation for global climate protection (Swiss Ice Fiddlers, Tango Glaciar) and outdoor activities (excursions, adventure and activity weeks).
